Accommodations

On-Campus Housing at American University

On-campus housing at American University is available on a limited basis. Participants are responsible for securing their own accommodations. To register for On-campus housing please follow this link.

1. Go to https://eagleeye.american.edu/rlhs/enter_online.cfm
2. Read the introduction and click on 'click here to apply.’ Please note that Peacebuilding participants participants DO NOT have to pay the $200 deposit fee.
3. Read the License Agreement & select “Conference Groups”. Then click I AGREE.
4. Complete the application and under organization name on the application form, select “SIS Peacebuilding Institute."
5. Please use a 9-digit number if you do not have a social security number. This number must be unique to all individual applicants. Please do not use your team ID#.
6. Please remember to rank all 4 options for the type of room you prefer. The application will not process if you indicate only your top priority.
You will receive a confirmation email after you have completely filled out the application. After room assignments are finalized in early May, you will receive a bill via email with instructions on your payment options. Participants must pay at or before check-in. Please contact the Summer Housing Office with any questions you have with your account. The Housing Office recommends that you pay online via credit card prior to your arrival on campus.

All rooms in AU's dormitory-style residence halls are carpeted and air-conditioned with in-room controls. All floors are equipped with laundry, kitchen and lounge facilities, and separate communal male and female bathroom and shower facilities. In-room Ethernet computer jacks also provide Internet access to guests whose computers have a university compatible Ethernet card and data cable for wall hook-up.

Double occupancy room feature two standard twin beds, two desks, two chairs, and closet space for two. Single accommodations are usually one guest in a standard two-bed room. Please note that while the University provides two bed sheets, one blanket, one pillow, and two small towels for each guest, participants are responsible for providing any additional amenities - including toiletries - that they may need during their stay.

On-Campus Rates

PDI has special negotiated rates for our participants. You will be required to confirm that you are a PDI delegate to secure this special rate.

Centennial Hall:
Single - $70/night
Double - $48/person/night
Centennial Hall is the only residence hall with semi-private suite living. In Centennial Hall, two double rooms share one bathroom. These bathroom facilities are not accessible from the hallway, making them available only to the guests of the rooms on either side.

Nebraska Hall Apartments:
Nebraska Hall is the only residence hall with apartment style living. These fully furnished apartments are available in either 2, 3, or 4 single bedroom accommodations. In addition, each apartment has its own fully equipped kitchen, living room area, and bathroom.
$80/night per room.

Alternative Housing Options

Off-campus housing is also available. However, rates are significantly more expensive than on-campus options. Again, participants are responsible for arranging their own accommodations. Hotels near American University include:
